Getting oriented
Find the care route that fits your life.
Choose how you would like to talk about care. A clinic visit takes place in a room. Telehealth is care using a screen, phone calls or exchanges online.
Compare two care routes
Focus on who will see you and how the visit works. A location alone does not answer those questions.
- Who would carry out my assessment? What role do they hold?
- What records can I bring?
- Is there a fee if no medicine is prescribed?
- How would I contact the person treating me after the visit?
Ask an online service
As of September 26, 2026, state rules govern online prescribing, and the rules differ from place to place.
- Is the visit live, or does someone review my answers later?
- Can I ask follow-up questions of the person reviewing me?
- How will you confirm where I am during the visit?
- If an exam needs to happen in person, how is it arranged?
Then check the same basics
For either route, ask for names and a written plan. Save the answers together so the next conversation starts from something clear.
- The person providing care and their licence details.
- The exact medicine and the pharmacy filling it.
- The plan for later visits and questions.
- The full bill and the terms for leaving.
